I want to clarify some information about this website, WinsomeToWisdom.
First, let me say “thank you” for being here. If you are reading this it means you took the time to explore something new or are one of my regular readers who make my day!
I started this website in 2007, the year I turned the big five-oh. For the last fourteen years, I have been writing articles, reviews, interviews, etc. about things I feel passionate about, am interested in, or just wanted to put out there. I have at times had guest blogs and articles dealing with issues for women over 50, but it has been primarily my own efforts that have populated this site. I do not import other blogs, I don’t buy content, and I have not even actively pursued advertisers for this website, although I invite any of you to have a conversation with me about it!
During the period that I have been writing this blog, I have been through empty nest, family changes, and been ticked off about menopause nearly all that time! There have been times when I was prolific in writing, and several dry spells where I just couldn’t garner the enthusiasm it took to produce anything I felt was meaningful.
The fact is that this website has been a labor of love that has returned to me many times over what I have put into it, and I am filled with gratitude for having had the opportunities it has given me. I remember like it was yesterday when the Central Park Jogger story was the headline news event that stunned the country…I recall standing in my kitchen with my two small children, feeling sick and angry and wishing I could just hug that unknown woman. It stayed with me for years…I thought of her often, and it was an incredible feeling to eventually share Tricia Meili’s current story on this website, and to find that we share the same birthday.
So, thank you for continuing to visit the site!
